The welcoming staff upgraded us to a light room with a very comfy bed. The location was unbeatable and brilliant for walking around a medieval church. And the area was lovely, short walk to Romney Hythe Dymchurch railway, independant shops and centre of hythe.

Had a great time here for a local wedding. Really loved the vegan breakfast that was cooked fresh. The location was super convenient, just a short walk down to the seafront. 🌊

Great friendly staff, nice size rooms, breakfast had a good range and choice
Only downside the room was stated as a king, but the bed was a very small double, also the front facing room we had was facing the main through road, so was very noisy with the window open

The room I stayed in was a good size and newly remodeled, with a tea/coffee maker. Everyone was amazingly friendly. The location was particularly great and stunning for traveling around Hythe, not far from the Eurotunnel, beach, town, church. Plus, the hotel was located just 3 km away from Folkestone Rugby Club.

It was close to the High Street, our room had been recently decorated and improved, the young staff were friendly and dinner and breakfast were fine.
Hotel entrance and lobby area was cramped and grimy. Bookings.com had not communicated our internet booking to the hotel but fortunately they had rooms available, otherwise this would have been extremely annoying

The Red Lion in Hythe is in a fantastic location, right next to local attractions like the town, seafront, canal, Port Lympne. It's also excellent for visiting a medieval church.

They seemed a bit disorganised when we arrived (possibly our fault for going round the front of the pub instead of using the hotel entrance door, which didn't really look like an entrance) but we soon got to our room. The room was very big and the bathroom looked new and very clean. There was a humming all night from a fan or something near the room, this may disturb some people although I had no problem with it. Breakfast was set out for us with cereals, yogurts, toast etc and the landlady then cooked us some breakfast too. She said if she'd known I was vegetarian she'd have got some veggie sausages in which was nice of her, though I was perfectly happy with scrambled eggs on toast.
